PCC & Sexuality

The Presbyterian Church in Canada is studying the matter of sexuality in the church as a result of overtures submitted for consideration about the nature of the inclusion of members of the LGBTQI community in the church.

As a church, we spent time to study on the topic in February 2016 with the document 'Body, Mind and Soul'. The responses were inconclusive and the doctrine committee is looking for further feedback on what the church is thinking and have discerned on this matter. Overtures have been made to redefine marriage (recognizing same-sex marriages) and to affirm the ordination of elders and pastors who are in same-sex relationships.

Therefore, individuals, groups and churches in the PCC have been asked to continually share in the discernment process with a response to documents on the Scriptural understanding of homosexuality.

It is both our privilege and responsibility as members of our denomination that values the equal voice of every member and seeks to discern the mind of Christ as one Body, lead by the Holy Spirit. So let us prayerfully study and speak as we're given the opportunity.

Here's how:

Step 1. Read the 2 documents
Step 2. Join the discussion and Q&A for EM on Saturday, January 27 @ 10 AM. All are welcomed, regardless of how much you've read.
Step 3. Fill out the online response form by January 31 - https://form.jotform.com/72747538873977
