Ministries
The various ministries of the VCCEM are our efforts to mature and grow in our discipleship. All of these ministries, all of our relationships, ultimately are ways through which God is forming us.
Our Sunday worship gathering is a key aspect of our church, renewing our connection to God and to one another. This ministry includes praise team, worship service leaders, AV, space beautification - all parts of making worship happen.
Worship
discipleship
We seek to become more like Jesus together. Discipleship Ministry equips people to mature in faith through intentional practices, spaces, experiences.
homegroup
HomeGroups are intentional small group faith communities. Committing to being with others in community is a spiritual practice to grow in faith together and a way in which we experience God who is with us.
welcome
The experience of hospitality and welcome, being received, matters so much because it is a core grace that we have all been welcomed and received in Christ. We practice welcome as a way of extending that grace to everyone who comes to our church or any of our worship services.
mission
God is at work in our city and the world to bring his Kingdom. Mission Ministry helps express our church's witness to, and participation with, this God’s activity.
church life
Church life leads and helps create events that call the whole church together to experience the joy and grace of fellowship, serving, and time away to seek God.
christian education
Ministry (CEM)
Faith can begin from the moment we are born. In CEM, we partner closely with the rest of the church to serve young people in our church, from preschool to high school, to experience and learn the love of God.
care
We follow Jesus in every season of life, including in trials, sickness, and at the end of life. We seek to be a church that learns how to faithfully walk with one another in times of hardship, suffering, grief, and death.
Whether in school, in-between schools, finished and starting to work, the college-aged members through those in their 20s are in a time of transitions, discovery, growing in wisdom, skill, faith. We want to see people equipped to navigate this season with faith and others.
Young Adult
God uses every part of our lives for his glory and we all spend so much of our life working, building careers and developing relationships. Our work is an incredible site to grow in, and bear witness to, Christ. As a church we can support, pray, and share our best wisdom with one another and the next generation.
Faith + Work
Family
It’s a rare thing to out-form what happens in our families. God is at work in these relationships. Families take so many forms: young couples to those raising children; empty nesters, grandparents, and those friends who like family to us. We want to leverage and equip our families to trust and glorify God.
Mature
Our mature members are older, wiser in life, and still seeking God to navigate the joys and challenges of this season. We want them to walk together through this season. As they are still follow Jesus and build up his church we lean on these members to lead and guide those coming up out of the many gifts God has formed in them.
