Leading worship (prayer & Scripture reading)

The heart behind this is simple: God has gathered us together, this richly diverse group of people whom He loves. Your voice, presence, experience of God, and willingness make our Sundays richer and more meaningful.

If you’re a member of VCCEM, we ask that you take a moment to sign up for Prayer and/or Scripture Reading. If you’re not a member but are a regular worshiper, we’d love to have you participate in Scripture Reading.

Elder Charles will be reaching out to you shortly after signing up! Thank you!

Coldest night of the year x out of the cold

We’re excited to share an opportunity to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year walk on February 28, 2026, a fundraising event in support of Out of the Cold.

While this is not an official VCC-hosted event, it’s a cause we’ve supported many times in the past. We’re partnering with Holy Trinity Church and inviting our community to join their team for the walk in the Richmond Hill area. It’s a meaningful way to come alongside a partner church and continue supporting this important ministry.
You can donate and sponsor Holy Trinity Church below:

If you’re able to lend a hand, we’d love to have you be part of showing our gratitude to these amazing leaders.

Reading scripture together

The church doesn’t have a mission but God’s mission has a church. Join us as we focus our daily reading on God’s mission and character for the next month. You can find the new reading schedule below!

SMP At vcc (Saturday morning prayer)

Beginning Saturday, June 7th at 8:30 AM, we’ll gather each Saturday morning through the summer to pray together. These times will be simple and welcoming - returning to the basics, and grow in our confidence and joy in being with God.

Why prayer? Because prayer is how we learn to be with Jesus—to sit in His presence, to listen, to speak, to rest. It’s how we are formed by His heart and become more like Him. And it’s through prayer that we receive strength and guidance to do what He did—loving others, walking in obedience, and joining God in His work in the world.

$5 Soup lunch returns!

The church will be selling soup lunch for $5 after service in the gym. This was something that we used to do pre-covid, so we will be bringing this back! This will be a great time of fellowship and eating with our brothers and sisters.

This is starting on Sunday, April 27 from 11am to 12pm!

FOODBANK DONATIONS (during communion)

We will be collecting food item donations for our local food banks during Sundays when we host Communion (first Sunday of each month). As we come to the table of Communion and break bread together, we also remember people in our local community who are experiencing food insecurity.

This a list of food items that have specifically been requested by our local food bank. We ask that you prayerfully consider picking up an item on this list during your next trip to the grocery store, and bring it with you on Sundays leading up to Communion Service.

If you have any questions, please connect with Abigaille Alpay.

MID-wEEK Prayer on zoom

Beginning October 9th, we’ll gather for a midweek evening prayer time, about 20 minutes, on Thursdays at 9:00 pm over Zoom. We’ll be using the resource, Practicing the Way, for these sessions.

We hope you’ll join us! Whether you’re new and want to learn how to pray, or maybe you’re in a season of life where we might need a new way to pray, or it’s been hard to get started praying again, we trust that making time for prayer is well worth it and doing it together will be an encouragement!

Parking relocation

On May 25, KM is holding a special service to invite friends and family to hear the gospel. They are reserving the main front lot for those visitors and kindly ask that EM, for that day, park in alternate spots:

We have permission to park, for that day, in the neighbouring sports centre parking lot; or in the parking lots for businesses right cross the street from the church.

newcomers lunch

No matter what age you are, we know it’s a challenge to find your way in a new church. So if you feel you’re relatively new to VCC and looking for an opportunity to connect with other people here outside of worship service, meet some of the leaders as well, we hope you’ll join us for lunch on Sunday, July 20 in Room 208 (the room on the second floor above the main KM office!)
